A shout out to y'all, fellow Dukers! I'm King of Cyberia, aka K.C., on alt.games.duke3d There are many maps you can download off the Net and play. First you must ask yourself, what maps do I want-- Single Player, Cooperative, Dukematch, Multiplayer, Capture The Flag, or a little of all? I cannot help you if you start whining about just "maps." Second, make sure you know exactly what version of Duke Nukem 3D you own, version 1.3 or 1.4 or 1.5 Shareware Duke is NOT able to load and play add-ons, and maps for Atomic would not work with the original Duke.
I would highly recommend Steve Long's Episodes 1 through 3, which can be found at Bob's page among others. They are set in diverse locations and he often "experiments" with the build engine, creating unique results in city maps.
During down times, I usually download and play maps (who wouldn't ;) Naturally I hope the resources that are useful to me will benefit others too. I will indicate those I've liked by listing map name and "d/l" below the URL. This does NOT mean they are required, only that they come personally recommended. A small note: URL addresses are in descending order, from most to the least maps. If any of these links are dead, or if the map sites change to another format (eg. from SP to DM), please let me know. My email is at the bottom of the page, but remove spamblock first.
Thank you!
As of 2002, it looks like the File Transfer Protocol site at ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/ has terminated its game downloads. No Duke Nuke here, nor Unreal Tournament or CounterStrike mods for that matter. When I emailed why last year, I think they said that 3D Realms found it cheaper to put their stuff on F#%kpl... er, FILEplanet instead.
So if anyone out their knows of a free of charge, no-registration-required,
United States based FTP site that's already set up, please let me know.
Do it for my fans!

Look at the left nav banner for Duke Nukem 3d links
And just in case you are missing an essential Duke version... (Plutonium Pak [v. 1.4] is not available anymore, it's been discontinued)
