This online tutorial was prepared in partial fulfillment of requirements for Education Technology course 645 at the University of Hawaii. ETEC 645, Designing Web-based Instruction, is an upper level course for ETEC majors and integrates the use of Web authoring tools, media development tools, and imagery manipulation tools for the production of online instructional materials whose effectivenss is supported by the literature. ETEC 645 is led by Dr. Curtis Ho the Department Chair for Education Technology.
The goal of this tutorial is to provide K-20 teachers the background in video production necessary to develop quality video materials that will enhance the learning of their students. It is not meant to make the student teacher an expert in any specific video editing platform but rather to familiarize them with editing technique.
The production team for this tutorial is as diverse as the intended audience. Russ Ogi is a media developer for the LEI Aloha Grant project in the ETEC dept. at the college of education and a student in the ETEC program. Gabe Hoefken is a graduate student in the ETEC department and Graduate Assistant whose expertise in video production has been capitalized on by the department in development of the ETEC Connections video series. Steve Goffar is a doctoral student in Curriculum Studies with an ETEC cognate with aspirations of a successful ETEC career.
