		The GEAR UP Club is intended to be an organization that helps develop students' ownership of their college planning and preparation. Activities sponsored by the Club are not planned exclusively for the GEAR UP students, however efforts are made to target all GEAR UP students for participation. Activities focus on increasing students' awareness and preparedness for college admissions and encourage their high expectations for the future. Through college preparatory, academic and social activities, the GEAR UP Club provides support for GEAR UP students to stay in school, study hard and prepare for success in college. The purpose of the GEAR UP Club is to supplement the GEAR UP program at Farrington High School and to serve and inform the members of events, activities and community service projects, that help to fulfill the objectives of the GEAR UP initiative to significantly increase the number of students who are academically prepared and motivated to enter and succeed in post secondary education. ANNOUNCEMENTS UH Manoa GEAR UP 2006, the official club of the 10th grade cohort is looking for new members. All sophomores, any student in the class of 2006 is eligible for the club. All you need to do is fill out a 2003-2004 membership form. The forms are available in Mr. Aquino’s room, A215, or in Ms. Luczak’s room, A106.
