to my home page. I'm a Professor and Associate Chair of
the Information &
Computer Sciences (ICS) Department, Chair of the Library
& Information Science (LIS) Program, and a graduate
faculty member of the Interdisciplinary
PhD Program in Communication & Information Sciences
(CIS), which encompasses four units and three colleges across
the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
I'm interested in how people integrate diverse types of knowledge, from document collections to the work of people with different kinds of expertise. I study interdisciplinary scientific collaborations, social Q&A communities and informal educational resources (for details, see my Research page). I'm also helping develop Learnamic, a site where homeschooling parents and children can discover and share learning resources. If you're interested in any of these projects or programs, feel free to contact me.
