iMovieFest Hawaii is a competition where you can submit
your original, iMovie edited Film.
Rules:
- Anyone can submit their iMovie. Applicant does not have to be a
Gamma Apple Pi member or a UH student, faculty or staff member.
- Entries are to be no longer than 5 minutes .
- The submission must be edited and enhanced using iMovie and only
iMovie video editing software. Entries edited or created with any other non linear
video editing software systems, or animation programs (such as Final Cut Pro,
Premiere, Flash, Maya, and After Effects) will not be accepted.
- NO iMovie can contain:
- Profanity.
- Nudity. Although we value students' creative sides, there are
other more appropriate outlets.
- Drugs. No using, showing, or alluding to drugs, alcohol, or
any other illegal act or behavior.
- Harassment.
- Violations of any public or federal law.
- We encourage student creativity, but we reserve the right to
reject any iMovie that the committee finds inappropriate for this
event. Such movies will not be shown or considered.
- Favor will be given to entries that make use of original material.
Copyrighted material may be used with permission of copyright holder.
- You may shoot your video on any format of your choosing (DV, mini
DV, VHS). The final format of your entry must be turned in on a VHS
or DV format.
- Applicants may enter individually or as a team. Each applicant
may submit one and only one individual piece. However if you are part
of a team you still maintain your elgibility to submit an individual
entry and vice versa.
Entry Dealine is November 1st, 2002.

Don't think your entry will make it in our mailbox by November 1st?
Arrange for a drop-off by calling Kevin Chung (808)-255-4212. We'll
be happy to meet, and you can give us your tape by hand.
Entries will be showcased during Movie Nite:
- St. John Auditorium
- UH Manoa, St. John 011
- November 4, 2002
- 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM
Parking near St.John is available after 4:00 PM for a $3 fee (paid
at gates). More parking information available at UH
website.
Entries will be judged by an iMovieFest judging commitee. We are still looking for three more people to join this year's commitee. If you would like to join this commitee, and are a member of Gamma Apple Pi, please send an e-email to: gapi@hawaii.edu.
