The Icon Award

The Icon Award is an award granted at the end of the semester to the computer lab which we fell best represents excellence in the computer learning environments. This semester, an Icon Commitee will decide the which lab will recieve the Icon award. We are still looking for four more members to join. If you are interested in joining this commitee, please send an e-mail to gapi@hawaii.edu.

Criteria on which the labs are judged include:

  • Macintosh Support, weight of 50
  • Working Environment, weight of 70
  • Software, weight of 70
  • Hardware Specifications, weight of 70
  • Available Assistance, weight of 40
  • Time Availability, weight of 50
  • Availability to Students, Faculty and Staff, weight of 30
  • Poilicies, weight of 30
  • Ability to solve Project Goal, weight of 40

More computer labs will be added as we find out about them. If you know of a open computer lab that isn't listed within, tell us by e-mailing gapi@hawaii.edu.

Computer Labs that are considered for the Icon Award must satisfy these requirements:

  • must have at least 4 computer terminals
  • must be within the UH system (Manoa or UH Community Colleges)
  • must be open at a pre-designated time for any select group of people (if you have to ask to open it, it's not an open lab)
