I am a Ph.D. candidate in Geography and Environment at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. In my dissertation research, I am looking at the issues of [non]citizenship and territoriality in the former Bangladesh-India border enclaves. Apart from being a graduate student, I have taught undergraduate classes both at UH Mānoa and the University of Dhaka . Along with teaching, I worked as a Grant Development Assistant with the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
I am a full-time faculty member in the Department of Sociology at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and currently, in study leave to pursue my Ph.D. I was awarded the East-West Center Graduate Degree Fellowship to pursue my degree.
Before joining the University of Dhaka, I worked as a Research Assistant/Lecturer with the Centre for Climate Change and Environmental Research (C3ER) of BRAC University, Bangladesh.
