Web pages cannont maintain state.
There are three wasy to record learner data acrdeoss multiple Web pages: frames, cookies, or server-
side scripting
.
Frames uses a static tracking frame nested in a frameset..
Cookies are only specific to the computer, not to the user. This is not a good choice to track different users on the same computer. Data in cookies contain a name, a value, and an expiration date. The cookie will expire when the Web browser is closed unless an expiration date is set.

Server technology can be used to create Web pages based on data from a database.
