Subsistence strategies have been a widespread research interest in Pacific Island archaeology, ranging from studies of marine exploitation to agricultural structures.  Faunal analysis in the Pacific focuses on fish, shellfish, and bird remains more than other geographic areas because native islanders relied heavily on these resources.   These web pages discuss Pacific Island archaeology, zooarchaeology in the Pacific, and my current research interests.
