Curriculum
Vitae
I
grew up in Sacramento, California in a large Irish Catholic family.
Attending the University of California Santa Cruz as an undergraduate, I
found myself interested in both science and philosophy, and eventually came to
the conclusion that anthropology was a field that could fulfill both interests.
My initial background in forensics eventually led me to a zooarchaeology
course, after which I changed my focus to archaeology (due to the
wonderful teaching and inspiration of Diane Gifford-Gonzalez).
I attended archaeological field schools at Cabrillo College
and CSU Chico, as well as volunteering on a project in
Wyoming.
After
graduating from UC Santa Cruz in 2000, I spent several months in Europe,
excavating at Bois Roche in France and the Dünsberg in Germany.
Upon return to the United States, I worked for several contract
archaeology companies in Arkansas, Utah, Mississippi, and California.
I also was a TA for introductory anthropology courses at UC Santa Cruz,
and tutored high school students for the SAT.
In
2002 I began the graduate program at the University of Hawai΄i Mānoa,
and have since been working on the completion of my Master’s.
In 2002 and 2003 I helped teach the Fiji Archaeological Field
School, and
this summer (2004) I was a supervisor for the Rapa Nui Archaeological Field
School. I plan
to complete the Master’s in Spring 2005. I am learning both
French and Tahitian, and I also am employed at Cultural Surveys Hawaii.
My c.v. is available
here.
