Homework 9

• due: Monday Nov 17
• hand in or email (as an attachment, GIF, JPG, or PNG preferred) to esb@hawaii.edu, no later than midnight.
• Read Chapters 13, 14, and 15
• turn in your detailed design for the CPU in projects 6 and 7. Only turn in one copy per team -- make sure all your team-mate's names are on what you turn in. The design must be at the same level of detail as the SAP-1 design in Figures 10-12 through 10-15 in the textbook, specifically including:
  1. a list of all your component chips, numbered starting with C1 (may be sent/handed in as text, need not be an image)
  2. a complete diagram of your circuit, showing all the component chips and all the connections between them. The diagram must be NEAT!
  3. a brief description, along the lines of Table 10-3 in the book, of all the control signals and how they are used to implement each instruction (i.e. the complete microcode for the fetch cycle and for the execute part of each instruction).
