fiddling with your registry. Please make a back-up of it just in case you fuck up.
(The author of this tutorial as well as hosts of this file are
not in anyway
responsible for loss of your data.)
!!You've been warned !!
So you just bought your new computer. Gauged at over 1.4 gigahertz
and flying
like a bat out of hell? Oh fuck this stupid introduction shit...
on to the mod.
If you've got a photographic memory, not like me, then open regedit.exe
or regedt32. If you've only a decent memory, e.g. capable of memorizing
your favorite
pr0n sites, et cetera, then open these both.
(Hopefully, you just made this crazy scheme!!! If not check out
our other
tutorials... here!)
Right-click on your desktop to Properties. Set your current theme
to whatever
theme you want the default login screen to inherit.
Once that is done bring up Regedit.exe and navigate to this folder
/HKEY_USERS/.DEFAULT/Control Panel/Colors
With Regedt32 navigate to this folder
/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Colors
Now comes the fun part... (._.)
//[ With the advent of all this new technology... who would have
thought that
M$ never intended the main login screen to be edited? Well if they
did this
step wouldn't be necessary right? ]//
Copy each line from /HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Colors to
/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Colors one by one. Each value should
be three
numbers, ranging from zero to two-hundred-fifty-five, seperated
by a space.
Now go into
/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop
Change the value : Wallpaper to the filename that you want the
login screen
to show as the wallpaper.
Change the value : WallpaperStyle to 1,2, or 3 where 1 = Center,
2 = Tile, and
3 = Stretch.
Once that is done... close regedit and regedt32. Change your desktop
theme
back to whatever, if you want. Then log off your account. And there
it is.
My next tutorial may talk about how we can get the fonts to change... we'll see.
