So Flash 5 screws up on me this morning... after a 2 hour download the 18.5 meg file installed fine. Unfortunately I received a happy registry tampering error... what fun.

I'll be working on some prototypes as soon as I get back from a short vacationing of my home.

I'm planning on changing the way I enter my news... as well as the way the entries are viewed. We'll see what I come up with in a few days or so.

As soon as I get a functioning copy of Flash 5... I'll really start burning the midnight oil... ;) "One cannot live a life of theory... for in this world... there exists more than thoughts and perceptions; misconceptions and misperceptions propagate our lives. Some even live in this manner; a bloated lie."

Lately this site has been treating me unfairly... I need to tweak way too many files to get the look and feel of the site correct. This constant tweaking of files slows down the main focus of my site which should be the main focus of any site -- focus on information.

Added my resumé...

I also updated my history section... now it is modular. I must admit I designed it well... even though I need to do slight tweaks... it only took me a few minutes to add the section as well as move some data around. :)

It has been two hundred twenty five years since a crude sheet of pressed paper, endorsed by a few of the most important men of American history, and valued to be as bad as a steel pipe to the nads was signed, sealed, and sent to the King and Queen demanding that they butt the hell out of our business. Today we celebrate that day, America's day of independance, the day we cut the figurative umbilical cord of the fetal country. [No connection with those Canadians]

Happy Independence Day

Well, I just started working on Flash. I'm going to port my game into flash and from there I want to add a large amount of Modules for accelerated application programming. I need to learn ActionScript, luckily I have knowledge of JavaScript, C, C++, Perl, and the slow ol' Java.

More on my progress in times to come.

Wow two updates in a row. I'm on a roll. I was talking to a friend of mine regarding a site idea. We always talk about these ideas... It's nice to know that I have someone that is on a similar wave-length. Anyhow... regarding the supposed site idea we bounced around; I'll be writings out some design ideas. I really don't want to do the site _in_ Flash. I still like my html, I don't know why. Maybe I'm just an old fogey. Anyway, this site will be revamped as I play with prototypal models.

Oh, I've been concurrently working on a game for java. Since it's still a prototype It's pretty crude. It's called Zourball and I'd like to hear your feedback. I've been able to use this game as a sort of building/stepping stone to a more developed UI. But for the time being Java 2SE(really version 1.4) available as SDK or JRE with it's Swing JFC GUI API[sic] support will be a good foundation for other UI's. OpenGL is a tough cookie. DirectX is, flat out, a BIATCH. None of these programs are needed for my game which can be found here.

Zourball : 0.0.1α come play 'er here.

I, also, recently read a nice article regarding the steps it takes till a game is complete. The article touches very lightly on three types of completedness: Code complete, Content complete, and Game complete. Have at it here: Three completes of a game. Anyway I like what the author has to say. It is quite easy to see how these topics also apply in among things, other than games, real world applications; projects that deal with computers and humans.

Well it's been a few months since I've updated the site... I've been really busy studying C++, for A+ Certification, and other programming ventures. My latest project "Zourball" check it out... I added more links. Next I will be porting my game to Allegro & DOS.

Here's a l/p : johndoehoe : johndoe for ny times... I'm sick of having to keep signing up for the dumb account when all I want to do is read. Some miscellaneous information about me is ... I'm reading Bjarne Stroustrup's C++ book: The C++ Programming Language. I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK! It's helped me regain my focus as a computer programmer. Also I've been trying to finish up "Water Ship Down". I bought 3 books : all worth appx $53 each... I can't wait till I finish the first book as mentioned above. My Pisces project has been postponed as I continue reading Stroustrup and oh yeah... I started a new project : myPIM v0.0.07 available on-line soon... check out the link here. I plan on implementing it to make use of XML and some other cool things... it's a Personal Information Manager... so far it can hold 10 notes. I want to add net functionality... though that will come when I learn more about C++ STL.

Well, I did some site updates today. I removed the redundant [tech] section and moved it into [writings]. I also added a new section [UH] to keep abreast in my assignments and other stuff.

A brief overview of my situation :
I'm still incomplete in ICS 141, ICS 211, PHIL 101, and MATH 140.
This semester I've missed classes in ICS 212, ICS 141, PHIL 303, and ENG 255.

When it rains, it pours... a girl told me once. She told me this because she had no focus. no goal. no nothing. no something. no knowing.

Today I figured out that maybe the information a person knows exists in their minds not because it was crammed in their heads, but because they accepted and assimilated the information into their being. For example, I was trying to ponder over how a person really knows something. I mean, how is it that I know 1 + 1 = 2. Mainly my question deals with the foundations of human knowledge. The simple things that if they do not exist in a persons pool of known ideas and concepts, then perhaps they cannot function as optimally as possible.

Perhaps I may be beating a dead horse, but it seems confusing that human knowledge exists within you and I, and the ideas and concepts exist as well. Perhaps our minds merely mimic the environment around us and we mold to what we experience. Suppose for a moment a lonely child raised by a single-father, this child has no knowledge of mother hood. His father beats him physically and emotionally. If in the future, and if this child develops past the state of "vegetative psycho-social arrest" then if this adult was placed in an environment outside his general knowledge and experiences, it is my belief that he will not act the same as the original environment. First, because the environments are different... and second because the environments themselves impose on the subject different levels of stimulation, thereby rendering similar outcomes for certain events. Ex : hide in corner when father comes home drunk, or turn on TV, make dinner, appease father to keep the house in a happy state.

blah blah... it sounds better in my mind.

Wassup... I'm such a doof... I found some cool azz appz to enhance [and slow down like a bitch] your computer and the desktop. Windows Blinds coupled with Hoverdesk make for a freeking bad azz combination! I wouldn't suggest any of these programs for your box unless you're running at least Win98 with a 500mhz PC. It takes away at least 20% of the processing speed. So in the most vague sense your computer will slow down by 20%! Not good for compiling code and all that but ... it sure makes for some beautiful eye candy... here are a few of my screenshots just to get a feeling of what it looks like... 1152x864-32 bit[running both appz]. If you're a skinner, I recommend both these programs since they make you drool!
