I am the 2nd in command and co-founder of my clan, "The Collective" ... I thank my leader, "Almighty Dave" aka "Cronos [TC]" for creating this clan and asking me for help, I have had a lot of fun being in this clan.
Right now I am going to discuss a little bit on the subject of ping and lag.
Lately, I have had very good ping times and not many problems with lag. I can thank my friend "Lerris" for recomending that I get the software upgrade for my "Compaq 33.6 VSC modem" to make it "full dublex" instead of "half duplex" (btw, this is a 33.6 Win Modem only allowing me to use it under windows and also for some strange reason, will never connect at 33.6 and so far has only connected at 28.8). I used to really suck and had an average of 600 to 800+ millisecond ping times, but now my ping time average is in the 300 to 400 millisecond range. I always used to say that if my ping ever got this low, I would be a formidable opponent for you, and I was right! And to proove it, I have these screen shots of my games to show you.
For those of you who do not understand what I am talking about, just imagine that 600 to 800 millisecond ping is like connecting to your UNIX server and typing email but when ever you type something, the letters don't pop up for another 5 or 10 seconds... This may not seem like it will make much of a difference, but in situations where precision aiming and split second thinking is the difference between life and death, 5 seconds can be an eternity...

This was a rather slow game. As you can see, we were playing on Ziggurat Virtigo, which is one of the most laggiest levels in Quake. For some strange reason, I didn't have much lag. Almighty Dave wasn't really playing, so this is one of the few times I scored higher then he did. |

This is just a picture. It shows me winning against Cloud [SA] who is actually one of my old friends. This particullar game was a complete competition between only me and him just because some wise guy made a stuipid remark about me and Cloud. |

This is a CTF (Capture The Flag) Quake server. In this screen shot I was challenging one of my old aquaintances, Strick9. He used to kick my but on my favorite DM server. This time I must have got lucky because my team won and I made first. |

Just wanted to let you see what I usually deal with when I lag... hehehe... I get this big fat picture of a missile in my face and the worst part about it all is it just sits there yet you know exactly what's going to happen and there is nothing that you can do to stop it :( . LAG SUX!!!
