Kula on the Plains
Here we are at Windward Community College on the plains overlooking Kane'ohe Bay. The plains was where the Native Hawaiians would grow taro and sweet potato. Native Hawaiians were smart to grow their taro and sweet potato on the plains because there was a natural flow of water from mountain to the sea. Taro was plentiful.
