How to Practice for Fun and Profit
In this lecture I discuss the practical, tried-and-true methods of effective practicing, and show how a little effort put into the art of practicing reaps many rewards. Students can't hear this advise enough.

Peak Performance
"Peak Performance" is a combination lecture/demonstration on simple ways musicians can improve their playing. I address aspects of technique such as posture, stance, breathing, and muscle control that will help students play more comfortably and avoid potential injuries.

Never be Nervous Again
This lecture addresses the issue of stage fright in auditions and concerts. Using personal experience, advice from other professionals, and techniques from athletic training, I give students tools to be more self-confident and to give performances that reflect their abilities.
For This We Earn a Living?
This lecture is intended to clear up the mysteries about the business of music. I talk about the various ways classical musicians earn money, promote themselves and find work, and I bring examples of resumés, press releases, demo tapes, and portfolios from real-live musicians.

The Care and Feeding of Art
The arts in Honolulu are not well. This lecture is intended to turn that situation around by educating the next generation of community leaders in how to take care of the arts. The discussion centers around symphony orchestras, but also includes other art forms, leaving no doubt in students' minds about how or why we keep the arts alive.
