LIS 670 Introducing Yourself Using WebCT

In this assignment you will introduce yourself by posting a message on WebCT.

Logging in

Using an Internet-connected computer, point your browser to: http://webct.hawaii.edu/.
This should take you to the WebCT home page.

On the WebCT home page, click on the Log in link.
You should get a page that looks like this:

Enter your UHUNIX user id and password.
Click on the Log in button.
You should get a page that looks something like this:

Click on the MAN:Intro to Info Sci & Technology link.

Joining the discussion

On the LIS 670 page, click on the Discussions link.

On the Discussions page click on Let me introduce myself.

Then click on the Compose message button to introduce yourself to the class.

Your introduction should include the following:

• Your name
• Academic background
• Experience in libraries
• Experience with computers
• Something interesting about yourself
• Something you would like to learn in this course

Troubleshooting

If you have trouble getting the WebCT pages to display correctly, you may be using an unsupported browser. To check on this, click on the words “web browser” in the “Which web browser can I use with WebCT?” line at the bottom of the WebCT home page.
