CURRENT APPLIED RESEARCH INTEREST

Debra Nakama is the overall coordinator for the Maui Educational Consortium. The Maui Educational Consortium is an assembly of Maui Department of Education and Maui Community College faculty and administrators who are committed to building capacity of their respective institutions to modify practices and develop new approaches to improve success for all students.  The Consortium  facilitates cross-level dialogue, life-long professional learning, and leadership and community.  Taking action to counter the fear of never changing, creating strategic relationships, holding all members to higher standards, inspiring members to achieve profound goals, and developing the next generation of leaders are addressed by the Consortium.
