bad dream, good dream (2 pages)

Overview: Some of you have experienced bad dreams and good dreams; some dream scholars say that dreams are an access point that allow our heads to vent out all of the elements of our daily lives that were left unfinished, or elements that stuck with us to a large degree.

In this assignment, you should search your life's sleep history and figure out the salient images that pertained to your WORST NIGHTMARE and BEST DREAM. You should try to create a dream narrative for each, depicting clearly the potent images and potential symbols that arose in each nightmare and dream.

The style of this assignment is yours to consider. Some of you might want to storyboard your ideas roughly and then draw out your nightmare's worst image or your dream's best feature. Some of you might want to write out and describe the potent images, then head over to an online dream dictionary so as to critically analyze and peer into your skull.

Task:

1. Close your eyes.

2. Look back into your entire sleep history for your life. Try to figure out what your most terrible nightmare was and also establish your best dream. Your dream or nightmare can be NC-21 if it must be, since we are all adults, but you can choose to censor yourself if you must.

3. Write up a polished draft that expresses the image-based significance of the nightmare and the dream. Potentially compare and contrast dream and nightmare if the comparison is viable. Explain what the nightmare reflects about your real world identity; equally establish what the dream says about you. The ultimate goal of the assignment is to freeflow ideas about what the POTENTIAL meaning of your dream or nightmare is.

if it helps you, you may want to bring in different dream dimensions as follows:

animus

anima

imago

shadow
