What methods have worked for maintaining sustainability?

Districts are under severe fiscal pressures and unable to add new support staff for Internet activities

Teachers take the lead and become learners again. However, institutionally, the changes or shifts won't get reflected in the bureaucracy to enable long-term support.

How do we bridge between the learning and dynamics happening in the classrooms and the inability of organizations to recognize and support the changes and shifts.

If monetary sources are not sustained, the other major concerns keeping up with the technology, hiring staff, keeping communications open are not applicable.

Obtaining funding is facilitated by creating a "can't live without it" service program for people who are vital users within the system. It has also been a great motivater for building a larger user base.

What strategies have worked moving administrators down the technology path to generate support for programs generated by faculty?

Time is a factor / including political factor

The human infrastructure focusing on long term vision and creating smaller short term pieces that are easy to move into place with support staff throughout the organization.

Institutionalization is a two piece process.

Develop a mechanism to support production quality systems (top down) and keeping the research components (bottom-up)

Provision for teacher incentives working in innovative teams has served as a catalyst for professional development and creativity.

Utilizing multi-point strategies and every opportunity available to effect change.
