WEEKLY ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINES
2 points for each assignment. These assignments make up 20% of your grade
Between
Weeks 2 and 11, you will answer the questions I have posed about
the readings. These questions are posted on the course outline.
Criteria for grading:
- You must
show that you have covered all readings. Refer to the readings by
the authors' last name. You can cite the author's last name in
parenthesis. Alternatively you may incorporate the authors in the sentence (eg. "Dickinson and
Schaffer argue that...," or "According to Dickinson and Schaffer," or
"Glenn, Ehrenreich, and Chang all show ...").
- Unless you are
asked to make list, the assignment must be written in full sentences and grammatically correct
. Write clearly and concisely.
Proof and spell check before printing.
- Avoid
using direct quotes, especially when you're defining terms. Try
to express yourself in your own words. Be sure that your
paraphrasing is not too close to the original text.
- Length: 1.5-2 pages. I will not read beyond 2 pages.
- Format: Word processed, double-spaced, Times
Roman 12pts.
- Due Dates: Weeks 2-11; See Course Outline
- Extra Credit: Weeks 14 and 16
