Biographical Sketch

Hi, my name is Kathy Dang.  I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii.  I am the youngest of 4 children.  I graduated from Kaimuki High School in 2003 and have been here at the University of Hawaii since.  After 2 years of contemplating what I want to major in I finally decided to become a teacher.  I have just recently applied for the College of Education.

Currently, I am a full-time student.  I don’t have any other job although I’ve been trying to get myself to look for one.

After getting my Bachelors in education I plan on moving to Michigan to attend Michigan State University where I would get my Masters.  I want to attend Michigan State because they have one of the top schools of education and I also have a very good friend that lives in Michigan that I haven’t seen in years.  After obtaining a Masters degree I do plan on coming back to Hawaii because this is where I want to teach and have family of my own.  Hawaii will always be home to me.

Before taking this course I had the basic knowledge of how to use Microsoft Word and Power Point.  In high school I took a course that covered other skills such as how to use Excel and how to make a spreadsheet but because I have not used those programs for a few years I’m a bit rusty.

In this section you will find two samples of my work that I did this semester.  The first one is a group tech plan and the second assignment is a spreadsheet.

This page includes telecollaborative work I used to complete assignments.  There is an example of the use of communication through discussion and one through the use of email.

III.  Online Resources
Here you will find a resource on how and why integrating technology in classrooms is a great idea and an example of a webquest activity that you can use in your classroom.

IV.  Reflections
This section includes my reflection on an assignment and a reflection on this course as a whole.
