Chief Intelligence Officer: David Sakamoto
In 1991 the Foreign Intelligence Service also known as Sluzhba Vneshney Razvedki (SVR) had been changed to the Central Intelligence Service known as Centralnaya Sluzhbza Razvedkyin (CSR) by the KGB.
The head of the SVR is Col. General Sergei Lebedev. The SVR deals with intelligence and counterintelligence services of foreign states. The Foreign Intelligence Service maintains contacts with special services in other countries. This includes work against weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, drug trades, organized crime, money laundering, illicit arms trade, and the search for and release of hostages. Collaboration includes the exchange of intelligence information, assistance in training of personnel, material, and technical assistance.
Our goal is to
provide the Russian Federation, Federal Assembly, and Government with
information that will aid in political, economic, defense,
scientific-technical, and ecological decisions. We will work internally within
the country to improve the well-being of the citizens. Then from there we will be able to expand and
improve Russia.
