    Suggested Study Method:

    • On a typical week without exam:
      • For each chapter, start by reading the chapter, along with reading the chapter, work on the pre-chapter hw assignments in WileyPlus featuring the brief exercises..
      • For each chapter, follow by working on the HW assignments in WileyPlus. Most of these assignments give you five chances.
      • For each chapter, you work on the quiz last but by the due date. It gives you a total of around 6 to 8 days per chapter depending which chapter you are working on. Please check the course schedule spreadsheet for deadlines for hw, quiz and exam deadlines.
      • Take each exam by the deadline.
Student Responsibilities
  • Homework assignments, quizzes, exams, projects should be submitted on-time. Since this is an on-line course, you are responsible for getting onto the world wide web. I may accept the fact that your internet connection is down for a few hours or may be even couple of days as an excuse. But if your internet connection is down for more than 30 hours, please find alternative access such as your friend's place, internet cafe, etc.... I am not sure how much they charge, but popular places are KapCC Business Education Kopiko 101 Lab, Coffee Talk in Kaimuki and Ing Direct in Waikiki. If you have your own laptop, other places are Starbucks Coffee, Safeway Kapahulu, Kahala Mall and Ing Direct in Waikiki. The following websites may be useful:
  • Students must show valid reasons and supporting evidents to arrange for make-ups. If possible, such arrangements should be made prior to due dates. For examples, if you were sick, please submit a copy of doctor's note or hospital invoice. If close family member has passed away, please submit copy of orbituaries. If you need to go away for work, please submit your supervisor's note addressed to me and a copy of your boarding pass if you've left town.
  • Please read the assigned chapter(s) before reading the materials I have posted in Laulima. It will save you time in the long run.
  • As you read the chapter(s) and the Laulima materials or while you are working on your homework assignments, please take notes. Also, please write down question(s) you have and you can refer these questions to me later via e-mail, on-line chat, or if you are on Oahu, in person meetings. If I have an in person class and you are available to attend, please feel free to request to come to the class.
  • Other than my office hours, you are welcome to make an appointment. I am quite flexible as long as it is not too early in the morning or too late in the night.
  • Students are responsible for maintaining a record of their homework and exam scores. The instructor will provide students with official records kept periodically. Students should review and compare with own records and inform instructor of any discrepancies.
  • I will help you with your homework as much as I can but I will not do your homework for you. You may get help from classmates but you should not expect your classmates to do your homework for you.
  • Let's all chat!
  • Practice, practice, practice!
  • Let's have fun and keep our communication channels open at all times!
