Grouping and Ordering

1. The toolbar allows you to align and rotate graphics, change the AutoShape and other features. This page will cover the order and group of objects.

2. Click on the down arrow to the right of the Draw button and the following selection box will appear.

3. To use the order button, there have to be several shapes on the PowerPoint® slide. In this example there are three shapes, each one from AutoShapes which has been filled with a different color from the paint bucket fill button.

4. Select one of the shapes and press the "Bring to Front" or "Send to Back" buttons, and the first two situations occur. By clicking on the "Bring Forward" or "Send Backward" the selected object moves forward or back by one layer, as in the third situation below.

5. If you want to select more than one of the objects on the page, you can do so by pressing the shift key and holding it down while the next object is selected, as in the first picture below. If you select the group button, the second situation below occurs, and thus all three objects can be moved together as a group. To separate the selected objects, press the Ungroup button and the objects will be able to be moved separately. By Pressing Regroup, the objects will be moved as a group once more.

6. The Change Autoshape button allows you to change a previously drawn AutoShape, when selected, to a new AutoShape. For more information go to AutoShapes.
