This site provides information about Asia relating to national and international security, history, diplomatic relations, culture and various other aspects of Asia stretching from Hokkaido to Bombay (Mumbai) and Mongolia to Indonesia. Topics are presented on the foundation of Dr. James R. Corcoran’s more than half a century’s involvement in Asia.

Information found at this site is useful for business, military, academic, diplomatic, and cultural purposes.

The primary orientation of this site springs from China and Indonesia and relies on sources in the Chinese and Bahasa Indonesia languages as well as the English language. From a wider perspective all the major sub-regions of Asia are addressed: Northeast Asia (China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, the Russian Far East, and Taiwan); Southeast Asia (Indonesia, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Viet Nam, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Philippines, Timor and the South China Sea); and South Asia (India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Sri Lanka).

Contents of this site are created based on interstices of strategic, historical, cultural and personal experiential frameworks. Analysis is chiefly directed toward the course of Asia in the new millennium as determined by wide use of historic and current-event sources.

This site is created for the purpose of disseminating knowledge about Asia from a particularized and specialized viewpoint as described above. Both the published and unpublished materials appearing here are created from the standpoint of national and international strategy with considerations of socio-cultural, political, economic, diplomatic and military elements of national power of the various nations of Asia.
