The School Mike

Mike is is a three year senior at the University of Hawaii at Manoa which is actually a pretty nice place, Mike is hoping to graduate in spring of 1996 with a BA in Environmental Studies, after that Mike dosen't know what he is going to do with his life, if you are a potential employer, feel free to drop Mike a line.

The Work Mike

Mike works for the Waikiki Aquarium as a Student Algae Scrubber, WebMaster and all around On-Call Computer Nerd. As part of his job at the Aqaurium, Mike gets paid to go scuba diving, it's a hard life. In addition to being a University of Hawaii Authorized Scientific Diver, Mike is also a PADI Divemaster and also has a TDI Nitrox certifacation.

Frequently Mike is called upon to abuse captive marine mammals (no, no, no, not abuse, what's the word, ahh, yes "train".) as part of the Aquariums Hawaiian Monk Seal (Monachus schaunslandi) educational demonstration, where in

you might hear Mike speak of Spiny Octopus and lobsters or you might here other staff speak of The Friggen' Shiggate Shoals where the Seals are found in the isolated Northwest Hawaiian Islands. (for some reason Mike is unable to get spiny lobsters and octopus out of his mouth correctly and French Frigate Shoals is kinda a hard thing to say). Mike has been working at the Aquarium for 4 years now and is now a certified expert in PVC pipe, protein skimmers and seal snot. If you have questions on any of these subjects, say "What size pipe should I use if I want 35 gpm with 65PSI?" or "You know Mike, I can't make up my mind should I buy the Tunze or the Äquarium technik Klasë skimmer?" or even "Dammit Mike, whats the best way to get marine mammal snot out of fine washables?" The Personal Mike

Michael Patrick Connolly was Born in 1972 in Southern California and moved to Hawaii on a permanent basis in 1987. Mike is a cool guy who really loves the Pacific Ocean, and in fact spends most of his time, in, around or studying the Ocean. Mike considers the Pacific ocean his one true Mistress, well the Pacific and of course, Chelsea Clinton. Mike also likes to waste^H^H^H^H spend his time configuring Operating systems for his computer. Mike thinks that OS/2 is a pretty cool OS but is a pain to configure. Mike espacially likes Linux, and who, really, could resist that friendly, warm and fuzzy UNIX command line?
