Special Education: Ph.D., Specialization in Exceptionalities
The Specialization in Exceptionalities is designed to prepare professionals to work as leaders in the education and support of individuals with disabilities. The specialization requires students to become grounded within Exceptionalities as a broad professional discipline. Under the guidance of his or her mentor, the student pursues an area of in-depth study which furthers the field's understanding of theory and practice related to specific areas of scholarly interest in Exceptionalities. Graduates of the program are expected to assume leadership roles addressing local, regional, national, and international issues related to research and higher education and/or program development and evaluation.
