Interact
Interact, which stands for International Action, is a high school community service group sponsored by the Rotary. The East Honolulu Rotary sponsored the Kalani Interact Club. I participated in Interact from 1995-1998. From 1996-1998 I was president of the club. We participated in highway clean-ups, Easter Egg Hunt at Kalani, Honolulu Marathon, and First Night. Math Team
The OIA Math Competition occured once a month at different high schools. I participated in the math team from October 1995 to the end of my high school career. I did well at first, but as time went by, I just lost momentum. Kalani High School's math team usually placed within the top ten.
Student Goverment
During 1994-1995, I participated in the student goverment by being the treasurer. From 1997-1998 I acted as liason between Interact and the Student House of Representatives. We conducted surveys about the activity going on in bathrooms, which did not make much sense to me. We also had an ice cream party for freshmen.
