day one of hell week, and until i finish work i can't even take the plunge into hades. i found a library that isn't closed mondays, i've changed my topic entirely (and i think it was fate after all that i wound up in that horrid hawaiian studies section at UH -- i have piles and piles of sources on the new topic, from my old HS work, right at my fingertips. good thing i'm a pack rat.)
it's raining so hard and i totally regret parking on the field today. should be some fun getting back to the car. we were supposed to have a gingerbread man hunt but the kids would seriously get washed away in this downpour, so that was cancelled. btw, have you ever seen unbaked gingerbread? i know it's juvenile, but i did not want to touch it.
thanksgiving weekend was full of thanks for my cousin who is safe upon return from iraq. we went to the country cousins' on the day itself, where we heard the news, and sunday night we had a turkey-free dinner at my house. and now a moment to commemorate the sixteenth anniversary of the infamous thanksgiving on which we went to the airport to meet my little brother and later that night at the celebration in his honor, he threw up his gerber vegetables all over my shirt. love you, mart.
was just pondering my lunch -- i can eat canned fruit cocktail grapes but won't touch a fresh one that isn't completely taut. also, someone seems to have poured salty glue all over this chicken patty. with so many thanksgiving leftovers in the fridge, why am i eating this?
willing my eyes not to close, willing my stomach not to turn, willing the library to actually be open when i get there, willing the sasa to be nice to me when i ask for yet another sub this week.
*will, will*
