  1. Examine the surrogates of the two DVDs and their container inserts that we discussed in class on November 14. The scanned surrogates are here:

DVD #1: Malaysian stories

DVD #2 Bunda Reinha

††††††††††† All DVDs measure 12 centimeters or 4 ĺ inches in diameter.

  1. Use the Connexion browser or client to create a new MARC21 bibliographic record for the resource using the Visual Materials workform:

  1. When you have finished creating your record, print two (2) copies of it to bring to class on November 21.

  1. Submit an essay (typed, double-spaced, please) in class on November 21 outlining the RDA rules and LC-PCCPSes you consulted in creating your record, other resources you consulted, decisions you made, questions you had, etc.

Some guidelines:

Apply the alternative at RDA 2.2.2.3 (i.e. use the disc label as the preferred source of information). If you feel that you donít have all of the information you need from the disc label and container insert, you can do research on the WWW to find out other information about this resource and this work.

Consult RDA, the LC-PCC PSes, OCLC bib formats, and the template you received in class.

Your completed bibliographic record should contain at minimum:
