"The Relic" is a thrilling horror film that is riddled with myth, legend, and superstition. The three main characters are Margo, a biologist, Dagosta, a policeman, and Whitney, an anthropologist.
Margo and Whitney work
at a Chicago museum. Whitney leaves for Brazil to investigate the relics
of Amazon tribes. There, he gets some strange leaves from an Amazon tribe
that wants to destroy modern culture.
The leaves have a special function that alters DNA. One day, Whitney is poisoned by these bizarre leaves which begin changing him into a reptile. Before he is changed completely, he realizes that what he loaded on the ship is very dangerous. So he runs to the ship, and tries to unload the boxes that have the relics and the leaves. But he cannot do it before the ship departs.
The boxes and a transformed Whitney reach the Chicago museum. That is when the killings begin. Margo comes across the leaves and analyzes them. With Dagosta, they try to solve the problem. Also, you can see a computer graphic for five minutes before the movie ends. If you like horror films, this movie may appeal to you.

"The Saint" is a great action movie that is reminiscent of the generic Bond-type movie. This movie, directed by Phillip Noyce, features Val Kilmer as the saint and Elisabeth Shue as the heroine in distress.
The saint is a man with a number
of aliases and disguises. At the beginning of the movie, it shows how he
had grown up at an orphanage, and also how he got his name, Simon Templer,
from a famous magician at that time. He hates staying at the orphanage because
the Catholic priests abuse him. So he runs away from there.
Years later, he comes into possession of a new formula on cold fusion. At this point in time, he finds the post-cold war world still a dangerous place. It becomes more interesting at this point of time when he meets a woman scientist who is developing a cold fusion formula. They cannot help falling in love with each other. Even though it seems like the reality does not allow them to be lovers, this movie describes the process romantically and humorously. I hope you have a good time with "The Saint."
