Inserting Graphic Images
This page has the instructions for this exercise. In addition, you will use it to modify the appearance and content of the page.
Getting Some Images
FrontPage Express clip art (WOOPS: clip art not yet available in the lab... skip this for now)
Take a look at Insert -> Image... and choose the Clip Art tab. The category drop-down menu organizes some small collections of clip art images that you can insert on your Web page.
Images from other pages
You can "lift" a graphic image from any web page. There are serious copyright implications, so make sure that you have permission before you do this.
Grabbing an image: Click on a desired image with the right mouse button. Choose the Save Picture and put the image file into the proper folder.
You can get some practice by clicking on this hyperlink to get to a page with copyright-free images that will give you some practice.
Get this Page to Work On
You are starting by looking at this page with the Internet Explorer. In order to practice with FrontPage Express, you will want to Save a copy (File -> Save As). Then start-up FrontPage Express and Open the file you have saved (FrontPad4.htm).
Insert an Icon
The following table has some categories of information. Look in the FrontPage Express clip art collection (Hint: the instructions are given above) in the icons category or get an icon from the set of demo images (Hint: instructions for this were also given above).
There are four steps in placing an image you have saved in a library:
You might not be able to see the image you inserted. When you run the browser, it should be there.
Put an appropriate icon in the table in front of the description. Feel free to add categories, and corresponding icons, to this table.
