From shadian@uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.EduTue Feb 28 11:55:13 1995 Date: Thu, 10 Nov 1994 17:33:53 -1000 (HST) From: Ritchard Shadian To: chi_alpha@uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu Subject: XA Internet Newletter, vol. FA94, iss. 2 Hello once again! I am issuing this special edition of the newsletter to cover new developments in Chi Alpha as well as some other stuff that I would have covered in the last newsletter if there had been space. INTERNET INFOS: In case you haven't heard, the Chi Alpha Internet mailing list is up and running! We now have a way to communicate with each other on-line. If you have any announcements which were overlooked, or if you have prayer requests, or even if you have a word from the Lord that we could all enjoy, you may send it to this address and it will automatically be sent to everyone who is receiving this newsletter. The address is: chi_alpha@uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu If your account is a UNIX account (in other words, if your full address ends with uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu) just sending it to chi_alpha will do the trick. One more email note (la, la, la, la, la), Amy Fung just got a new email account. Her address will be afung@uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu. It should be fully active next week sometime. ANNOUNCEMENTS (ANUNCIOS): This is just a rehash of announcements from the meeting on November 10. 1. XA out on the town We will be having an outing of some sort on Friday (viernes), November 18. What that outing will be is still unclear. There is a sign-up sheet to inform us of who is going to be able to make it that day. We were thinking of ice skating but that looked to be too expensive so we are welcoming suggestions about what to do. 2. Fall in and Retreat! (to the beach) A XA one-nighter retreat is on the table. Nothing is certain yet, but Leimomi said that we may be able to stay over at her beach home for a night. If everything goes well it will be the thanksgiving weekend or the weekend following that. Stay tuned for more details as they come. 3. Let's talk about.... On Saturday (sabado), November 19, at 12:00 pm, in one of the Campus Center rooms (Marvin will get back to us on precisely which room), Dwayne Crumb will be giving a talk about AIDS and abstinence. It would be great if you could make it and if you could bring a non-believing friend who has been stuggling with such issues. 4. Books on the shelf The weekly booktable has been indefinitely postponed. Campus Center is booked until the end of the semester and the chances of us slipping in are small. However it's almost certain that next semester we will be able to revive it again. 5. ...for brothers to live together in unity Reminder: Monday night, the 14th, from 7:30 to 8:30 at night, Hemenway 204 will be open for Christian leaders from several Christian groups on campus to meet and chat. It's a great time for support. If you have some time, join us. It's not restricted to leaders only, by the way. All are welcome. And finally.... Money issues (oh, no!). For those of you who went to the picnic at Sandy's a couple of weeks ago, and have not yet paid, Amy wants your money. ($3.00, I believe, is the calculated amount, although you're perfectly welcome to give more if your heart so leads you.) Also, for those who went to Compadre's for Claire's party, it would be a great help if you could put something towards the gift. Well, that about does it for this edition of the Internet Newsletter. Hope to see you Thursdays. Press on, Ritchard
