It's been a while since the last issue of the newsletter, so I decided to get an early jump. ------------------------ A WORD ON THE NEW FORMAT ------------------------ Well, actually it will be a lot of words. We, being creatures of change like things to at least look new even if they aren't. Thus, the fancy stuff at the top. But there is more to it than that. This semester, I hope to expand this newsletter into more than a repeat of announcements. Although it will still serve as that, I hope to make it more newslettery with your help. I am asking for articles, words of inspiration, memory verses, anything any of you wish to share with the group. Send them to me and I will include it in an issue of the newsletter. I also intend to include standard items such as prayer request filtering out of the prayer meetings, notes from the monthly SLC meetings, and the like. I'm also open to suggestions on how to further improve "The Brotherly." So, once again, I am asking for your contributions to make this newsletter better. ----------------------------------------- NEW TIME AND LOCATION FOR GENERAL MEETING ----------------------------------------- In case you haven't yet heard, our general meeting time and place has been changed. The new time is Friday nights at 7:00 pm. The new location is Kuykendall room 210 or 213. This Friday (8/25) we will be having pizza as well as enjoying a time of worship, learning, and fellowship. Be there or be a rhombus. --------------- BOOKTABLE HOURS --------------- For the next two weeks we will be having a booktable in Campus Center, across from Kampus Korner. The tentative dates are 8/22, 8/25, 8/28, 8/29, 8/30, and 9/1 from 10:00 to 1:00 each day. We are looking for volunteers to man the booktable, to set it up, and to tear it down. Call Joel at 957-1596 for info. -------------------- UP AND COMING EVENTS -------------------- There are still some things hanging in the balance. We plan to start a New Seekers Group, and an investigative Bible study sometime soon. Of course we will be having our small groups too. When they will be and who will facilitate them are still in the planning stages. That's it for now. I'll probably send out a special edition next week to update everything.
