I hope you did/are doing/will do well on your midterms. Spring Break is just around the corner and we will be making use of it here at Chi Alpha, along with several other events which I am going to explain. I warn you, this is a long issue. Outreach is out --------------- First of all, the joint outreach we planned for the week before Spring Break has been indefinitely postponed. We're still looking towards the joint praise and worship night for all the Christian groups on campus to be held sometime in April. T-SHIRT MONEY! T-SHIRT MONEY! T-SHIRT MONEY! ---------------------------------------------- Anyone who is interest in purchasing a Chi Alpha T-shirt must bring $11 THIS WEEK THURSDAY (3/16)! It's $10 for the shirt and $1 for shipping and handling. Again, $11 is due THIS THURSDAY (3/16)! We will be sending in the order on Friday so we must have the money THIS THURSDAY (3/16)! Worship under the stars and the spaghetti ----------------------------------------- Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were unable to reserve either Wainani I or F lounge for this Thursday (3/16). Therfore, we are going to be having a different type of meeting this time. We will rendezvous just outside I lounge at 7:00, and then walk across the Manoa stream bridge --- the one directly behind the Noelani apartments --- to Kanewai field. If you come late, you will find us on the grass somewhere near the bridge. Claire will be leading us in a time of praise and worship under a full moon, beneath the stars of the beautiful Hawaiian sky. Feel free to bring an instrument to play along. Please pray that the floodgates of heaven, meaning the Manoa rains, would stay closed on that night. We will be finishing a little early (hopefully) and then, afterwards, anyone who wishes to may join us for a meal at the Spaghetti Factory. If you do plan on coming, bring a car (if you are able) and bring a discount token. For those of you who don't know what I mean, Spaghetti Factory is celebrating their 20th anniversary and are offering an incredible deal. Anyone who brings in something with the year 1975 on it, be it a coin, a driver's liscence, an LP or whatever, gets a meal at 1975 prices. For a standard spaghetti plate, that would be about 2 or 3 dollars (my, how times have changed). It's a deal that you can't beat, especially for a poor universary student. We are all one body ------------------- Next week Thursday (3/23) we will have another installment of our body nite tradition. For those who are new, body nite is a night where the regular speaker keeps quiet and the others share what God has told them. Anybody may participate --- we just ask to be notified first. So, if you feel that you want to share a word to the group about what God has been showing you, please inform either Joel or your small group leader. It is a wonderful opportunity which I would like to encourage all of you to look into. The message doesn't have to be long or philosophical or in-depth. In fact, it doesn't even have to be a regular message. It could be simply a scripture you want to share, a song, a poem, or a dream. Anything that would serve to edify the body and exalt Christ. Spring Break happenings ----------------------- Some of you, like me, will be taking off to other islands or other parts of the nation for Spring Break. Many of you will be staying. Just so you won't be lonely or extremely bored, we have planned a couple of activities for the Spring Recess. The Monday, March 27, is Prince Kuhio Day which is a state holiday. On that day, XA will be having a beach picnic on the North Shore. Cheryl will probably be presenting the details at the general meeting either this Thursday or next. Later on in Spring Break, exactly when is still unknown, there will be a video nite. Stay tuned for details about that too. Plugs for old stuff ------------------- Just another reminder, we have prayer meetings next to the basketball courts behind Wainani G Building every weekday morning at 7:30 a.m. Stop by if you have a prayer need. Also I just wanted to inform you, again, that this mailing list address is not restricted to my newsletters. If you need a prayer, or if you just feel like sharing something from the Lord, tell us by all means. This mailing list includes just about everybody who goes to the general meeting, and even includes strong Christians who used to come on a regular basis, but don't anymore. On that note, I have another thing to add. If you have been getting tired of all my mail stuff and would like to be removed from the mailing list, please let me know. I swear I won't get offended. Further, if you would like to be listed at an address you use more often, or if you know of another Chi Alphan or potential Chi Alphan that has email that is not yet included on the list, let me know about this too. My email address is: shadian@uhunix.uhcc.hawaii.edu I think that just about does it. Have fun and trust Jesus. Ritchard
