SP95, iss. 2) Hi again gang! Just wanted to fill you in on a few upcoming events. The Granddaddy of them all! --------------------------- This Sunday, January 29, is Super Bowl Sunday!! To commemorate this great American event, we will be having somewhat of a party. In any case, we will be watching the game over at Joel's place and there will be some snacks to go along with it. Come and join us in rooting for the San Diego Chargers. (You can also root for the other team if you want, but be warned that you won't find many on your side.) Kickoff is 1:00 p.m. on ABC (Channel 4). Head for the hills ------------------ There is still going to be hike on February 4. It will most likely be in St. Louis Heights. More information will be coming soon. For brothers to dwell in unity, part II -------------------------------------- We will be having a student leaders council meeting next Monday, 1/30, at 7:00 in Hemenway 204. Leaders are encouraged to be there, others are encouraged to pray. "Thou art the SALT of the earth..." ----------------------------------- The following week Thursday (2/2) we will be starting something new, a money collection. Now wait! Don't hang up yet. Let me explain. Every winter break, regional offices of the national Chi Alpha organization hold a massive conference called the Student Activists Leadership Training, or SALT for short (now do you get the pun in the heading of this item?). This year our region's SALT is going to be held in Las Vegas. Dallas figured out that if one starts saving a dollar a day from now, he or she will have just enough to pay for everything when the time comes. The money will be held in the Chi Alpha account, fully refundable, for each person who is interested. This will be covered in great detail this upcoming Thursday (1/26). So, keep this in mind and don't turn off the switch so fast. Also, make sure to come to this Thursday's meeting so that you can get the details. We've got to pray just to make it today --------------------------------------- Just a plug: remember that we have prayer meetings every weekday morning from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. next to the basketball court behind the Wainani apartments. If you need a prayer, come and join us. That's all for now. Stay tuned for more info on events. Ritchard Upcoming birthdays: Flover Cabanilla 1/27
