From shadian@uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.EduTue Feb 28 11:55:29 1995 Date: Fri, 13 Jan 1995 16:44:40 -1000 (HST) From: Ritchard Shadian To: chi_alpha@uhunix.uhcc.Hawaii.Edu Subject: The Brotherly (XA Internet Newsletter), vol SP95, iss 1 Hello again everybody. It's time to start anew with another semester of surprises ahead of us. Notice the new name, courtesy of Flover, the only one who gave me ideas about a new name for this newsletter. New address for Joel -------------------- If you tried sending anything to the chi_alpha mailing list lately, you may have recieved a "return to sender" message from the netlab.cba postmaster. This is because Joel's old address is no longer active. His new email address is: jselies@netlab.cba.Hawaii.edu Booktable, the sequel --------------------- At last Thursday's meeting we discussed a bunch of stuff. Among them was the booktable. We will be having a booktable this semester every week on Mondays and Thursdays from 11:00-1:00 PM. Next week (1/17-1/20), however, is an exception because we will be having the booktable every day of the week. In particular, on Wednesday, there will be a student involvement fair. Stop by if you can. Also, if anyone is free during the above times, we would love to have your help at the booktable. We want to create a schedule that will minimize the stress factor for all of us. Holiday happenings ------------------ Monday is Martin Luther King's day, which means a holiday for everyone (as though we need one so early in the semester). On that day we will be having breakfast at the Waikiki Denny's. If you need a ride, or can give a ride, meet between Wainani's F and I lounges at 8:30 AM on Monday, January 16. Or you can meet us at Denny's at 9 AM. Afterwards, that is about 10:00 or so, we will be playing tennis. So get ready to serve and be served. Reaching out to the community ----------------------------- Speaking of serving, on Saturday, January 21, we will be joining up with the high school group from Assembly of God, our sponser church, and going to a juvenile delinquency center. After sharing the gospel, the group will be having a picnic. More details will be forthcoming, but meanwhile, keep this in mind. Climb the highest peak ---------------------- By Cheryl's suggestion, we will be going hiking on February 4. When and where will be decided soon. Remember to come to the Thursday meetings, same time, same place. Also, remember that we still have prayer meetings every morning from 7:30 to 8:00 next to the basketball court directly behind the Wainani apartmets. Fight the good fight and stay tuned for the next newsletter. Ritchard
