The A-B-C Paradigm
- A = Activating Event
- B = Belief System
- C = Consequences
An Activating Event (A) leads to emotional and behavioral consequences (C). (C) is NOT caused by (A), but by the individualís belief system (B). Irrational beliefs can occur when (A) is unpleasant.
