Welcome
Welcome to the website of Dr. Charlene Baker, Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Dr. Baker joined the University of Hawaii in 2006. She was previously a Behavioral Scientist in the Division of Violence Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her Ph.D. training in community psychology was at Georgia State University. Her primary research interest is the development and evaluation of prevention programs to reduce violence among individuals, families, and communities. Dr. Baker uses an ecological approach in her work and also believes that it is important to work collaboratively with communities to develop culturally appropriate programs.
