Current number of episodes in my Whammy! Tape Collection: 130 (on 11 tapes)

• Almost 16 years since the end of PYL's original run, Whammy! made its debut on Game Show Network (GSN) on April 15, 2002!  It was the revival of an old cult classic, Press Your Luck.  Unfortunately, it was canceled after two seasons and 130 episodes.  My only gripe about the show was there were NO returning champions unless a champion on a previous episode of Whammy! had won with $0.

• Todd Newton hosted Whammy!  Gary Kroeger announced!

• Two pilots were originally taped for the show.  One featured Todd, the other: Peter Tomarken!  Both men did a fantastic job, but, in the end, the executives of the show chose Newton to host.
