Grading

 

The student's grade will be based on:

 

                Laboratory performance and attendance:   60%   

Laboratory Performance                                    45%     

(Using a competency-based evaluation form)

Attendance                                                        15%                 

          

           Exams, quizzes, and assignments:                    40%   

Quizzes                                                               10%

Homework Assignments                                     10%

Final Practical                                                     10%

Final Written Exam                                              10%     

 

 

Attendance                                      +20 points per day           

Tardiness                                          - 20 points per violation

Dress Code Violations                      - 20 points per violation

Safety                                               - 20 points per violation   

Sanitation                                         - 20 points per violation

Stewarding                                       - 20 points per violation

 

Grade                                                         Percentage

A                                                             90% - 100%

B                                                             80% - 89%

C                                                            70% - 79%

D                                                             60% - 69%

F                                                              59% and below

 

NOTE:         Total class points may vary based upon actual lab days, additional quizzes and unforeseen events.

 

 

     Lab clean up is considered a part of the safety/sanitation competencies of the Asian/Pacific Cuisine class.  Therefore it is required that all students participate in lab clean up at the end of the module. Unexcused failure to participate will result in a 10% deduction of your final grade points.

Grading Policies

Courses required for the general education core and for major requirements must be taken for an "A" through "F" grade.  The Credit / No-Credit option may be exercised for courses not required, or for remedial Math and English courses.  Success in FSHE courses is highly dependent on attendance and class participation, and successful course completion requires regular punctual attendance. A grade of “C” or better is required in FSHE courses, and a “D” or better is required in non-FSHE 100 level courses.

any necessary and reasonable changes.
