Pali Lookout overlooks the 985 foot cliffs of the Koolau Mountain Range. The lookout offers one of the best panoramic views of the windwad (northeast) coast of Oahu. It also offers scenic views of Kaneohe, Kaneohe Bay, and Kailua. This site was established in 1795 when King Kamehameha and his warriors conquered the Oahu armies by sending them over the cliffs and claiming his victory. By defeating the Oahu armies, King Kamehameha was able to reunite the Hawaiian Islands. There are many stories about Pali Lookout and most of these stories are best told during Halloween. Other than these stories, Pali Lookout presents visitors with breathtaking sights of the windward (northeast) part of Oahu.
