Did I Miss Something in the Textbooks?
An Overview of Archives in Oceania

In this presentation, Mr. Wright will provide an overview of archives in the Pacific. He will also examine how archives serve local communities and address the environmental challenges they face.


Mr. Wright worked as Historian-Archivist for fifteen years at Bishop Museum before he set out to found The Wright consultants, a private archives consulting firm, in 1981. In the same year, he organized the First Pacific Archives Conference in Suva, Fiji, which led to the establishment fo the Pacific Regional branch of the International Council on Archives (PARBICA). Today, Mr. Wright continues hiw work as a consultant.

An MLS graduate of UH, Mr. Wright is widerly known throughout the Pacific for his extensive consulting work and organizing efforts in archives and museums.
