Psycholinguistics Lab: Courses, Discussion Groups, Lectures Series
Undergraduate students interested in psycholinguistics should start with Ling 412 (following one of the prereq options).
Graduate students (from any
department, at the MA- or PhD-level) should begin with Ling 640Y and
Ling 632, which can be taken in either order or concurrently. Students
planning on writing a working paper or Master's thesis in
psycholinguistics should take Ling 640Y, Ling 632, and inferential
statistics at the earliest points possible, and follow Ling 640Y with
at least one seminar in psycholinguistics or a related area. Students
who would like to include psycholinguistics as one of the areas for the
comprehensive exam should plan to take at least three 600-level or
higher courses in psycholinguistics and regularly attend discussion
groups and colloquia on psycholinguistic topics.
