Since 1986, APIL has awarded 118 Student Summer Grants and 2 Alumni
Grants supporting more than 20 public interest law organizations in
Hawaii. the
total grant amount awarded is an estimated $379,500. Student grantees have worked a
combined total of 35,400 hours— the equivalent of 18 years of
service. Providing direct
assistance to countless lives, APIL has a unique and critical role in serving
the people of HawaiÔi and WSRSL.
Twenty-five years of seeding HawaiiÕs public interest law community
with student and alumni grantees makes real the vision of the WSRSL Class of
