"Theatres on Screen"

We are pleased to present the premiere of "Theatres on Screen," a new, ongoing project to document appearances of historic theatres in films.

Our thanks to those of you who have contributed information!

This list covers an impressive 89 year period -- films from 1920 through 2009 -- and more than 100 theatres!

The theatres listed may appear as themselves, as fictional theatres, non-theatrical places or other unidentified locations, or simply seen in the background. As you look through the list, you may be surprised at some of the films and the theatres you never noticed before!

We're sure there must be more films out there waiting to be "discovered!"

Use your movie knowledge and sharp eyes! If you know of other films not included, or additional details on the films/theatres listed, please e-mail the information to our webmaster Lowell Angell and we will add them. Also, if you are able to provide any still photos from the films showing the theatre, please let us know!
