As a participant in this
statewide project, I assist with selection of images reflecting a range
of Alaska history and culture. I collect the images from the State Library
Historical Collections, scan and balance images in Photoshop. We then describe
the items using a varity of sources and upload them to the database. The
results may be viewed here: http://vilda.alaska.edu.
The next phase of the project will include documents and video.

Duties: Assist and instruct
library users about library's electronic databases, various Internet search
engines and directories, and the Capital City Libraries' online catalog.
Use these, along with print materials, to answer library users' inquiries
and help them find appropriate sources of information. Assist at the Circulation
Desk, on occasion, particularly with check-in/check-out of library resources
and opening/closing procedures. Work cooperatively with student assistants.
