My name is Harry Alices-Villanueva
and if you "click" on my name you can see a photo of me in Italy where I
went this last summer.
I came to the University of
Hawaii to do a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences under the Cell Molecular &
Neurosciences Interdisciplinary Program (CMNS).
Finally I completed my degree as of June 6, 1997. You can see the title of
my dissertation and the persons to which I dedicated all this work if you
click here. An abstract of the dissertation can be
read here.
My research deals with a certain aspect of the gene TRP1 which is located
very close to the centromeric region of
chromosome IV
of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae genome. The yeast
genome is now completely sequenced. You can check the current status
of the Yeast
Sequencing Project right now if you want to or
you can E-mail me (see bottom of page) for more details about all this and
of my research.
All of my research for this doctorate was conducted at the Hilo
campus of the University of Hawaii
which is located in The Big Island. You can go on a field trip around the Big Island of
Hawaii right now if you like.
I am at the same time Assistant Professor at InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico.
I have an M.S. degree in Computing Science Education from the University of Evansville , Indiana and also an M.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. My bachellor degree is in Biology (Zoology) from the Mayaguez Campus of the University of Puerto Rico.
Or you can contact me also through my secretary
(Not a very clear photo of me...sorry..!)
By the way, this secretary you previously met do not work very well; she is always absent (going out with a lot of guys, you know). I am planning to fire her and instead I will get this new secretary that works a lot better and never goes out with anybody.
The home page of my friend Adrel Vicente is very cool! Be there..!
