Story - Proofread and Edited.

A C T I V I T I E S / L E C T U R E
• Print a copy of your story and share with classmate. Classmate will give you feedback about the storyline in general and whether or not you are being descriptive or not. Studentmakes more edits, reprints and turns in both copies to instructor.
• Vector basics with Adobe Illustrator | Text tool and related functions | Basic shapes, shift to constrain, specifiying scale values, and freeform. Fill and stroke including stroke size | Specifying colors | Controlling overlaps, bring to front/back, grouping | Copy and Pasting | Multiple Selecting | Paths/Layers viewing/locking Work on thumbnail Template.

• Second Step in Process for Project: Create object sketching template in Iillustrator. Six (6) squares to a page (2 squares side-by-side) and with your Name and class info. Print 2 pages for thumbnail object sketches.
• Example of contour drawing style on board and how to complete homework.

H O M E W O R K
• Based on the story you have written, Research reference images on the web by doing a google search for images in magazines/books of objects that appear in your story. This will help you really see what the look like for when you are drawing them. Do not label them.
• Using the Template you created in class, draw Object Thumbnails for Fantasy Meal Project [Based on ideas from story create at least 2 variations of every object you reference in your story]. They can be rough and should be hand-rendered thumbnail sketches. Do not label them what they are. MAKE SURE TO USE CONTOUR DRAWING STYLE (OUTLINES) like we discussed in class, Consider looking at examples from childrens coloring books if you get stuck and other sources for reference as you see fit.
• Buy your Flash (Jump) September 13th. The sooner you have it, the more useful it will be to you.

Object Thumbnails (2 versions of each object in different perspectives). Do not label them what they are. In class we will have others try to identify objects , if they can't tell what they are, you may w ant to reconsider how you are drawing that particular object.

A C T I V I T I E S / L E C T U R E
• More Vector basics with Illustrator | Intro to Pen tool basics | Stroke Size | Transformation tools

H O M E W O R K
• Considering the objects from your story and your storyline in general, create 3 Composition Drafts at Full Scale 8"x10" or Half Scale 4"x5", will be due on Wed, 9/8
Remember your composition can capture a moment in your story (like a scene) or be more like a movie poster and somehow capture the general storyline.
• At this point, it does not need to be exactly the same as your story, you can add or take away objects or ideas so that the composition works.
•
Remember thatyour composition should revolve around the idea of fantasy and meal. If you are stuck, look at other Student Fantasy Meal Samples and consider our lecture on what makes a strong composition (Framing, hierarchy, variation, similarity, bleeding and close cropping, perspective, things to avoid—the lineup, etc).

Write up Concepts for 3 Visual Rendition Versions of your movie poster: Using a separate paragraph for each, using descriptive language, discuss how you might represent your movie idea visually on your poster. Consider the characters, objects or other visuals that might make it into the movie poster and explain what they will be doing to get your movie/plot concept across. If you cannot come up with 3 different ways to give your movie visual representation you may write another Movie Synopsis and describe that poster idea visually,as well.
• NOTE: You may begin photographing images at any point during the process. Whenever you take pictures, bring camera with pictures to next class on your thumb drive —but not required at this point if you don't have time.
